Starting with a single team of arborists over 20-years ago, Glendale now operates with over 200 professional staff managing some 15,000km of overhead lines for Western Power Distribution in the south west.
Glendale’s surveyors inspect every metre of the network, assessing work requirements, carrying out risk assessments, environmental impact surveys and mitigations, and obtaining permissions from landowners.
Clearance work is then undertaken in line with the assessments with a view to maintaining the trees in a sustainable and sympathetic manner with customer service at the forefront of the decision-making process.
All works are delivered according to Glendale’s ISO9001 Quality Management System and adhere to the stringent compliance requirements of Western Power Distribution. The management team continually evaluate the service and actively seek feedback from all parties in order to ensure the team continually delivers an efficient service.
Glendale regularly invests in plant and technology, alongside staff training and development. The company also utilises satellite technology which illustrates the electricity distribution network on an image of the landscape along with real-time tracking to deliver its work teams to remote locations, in all weathers, with minimal delays.
